This past weekend the 84 Masters tournament was played at Augusta National Golf Club. The annual April tournament was postponed until November this year due to COVID-19 and one former Masters champion, Sergio Garcia, was unable to play because he had tested positive.

The Masters tournament this year featured no patrons, and with it being played in November, it allowed for fall leaves and different colors all over the golf course rather than the spring colors many fans are used to seeing. Defending champion Tiger Woods finished one under for his week of golf, highlighted by a ten on the par three twelfth hole during his Sunday round.

The winner this year was number one ranked player in the world Dustin Johnson who finished 20 under: the best score at a Masters tournament ever. Andy Ogletree was the Amateur champion with a finishing total of two under par.

Other top scorers included Australia’s Cameron Smith at fifteen under, Korea’s Sungjae Im at fifteen under, Justin Thomas twelve under, Ireland’s Rory Mcilroy at eleven under and South Africa’s Dylan Frittelli at eleven under.

The cut this weekend was the lowest ever. After two days of golf, if a player had any score over par, they wouldn’t play in the two weekend rounds.

Notable names who missed the cut included Matt Kuchar, Henrik Stenson, Gary Woodland, Jason Day, Francisco Molinary and Fred Couples who participated in the 83 masters at the age of 60.

It was a very successful weekend at Augusta National and the 85 Masters is scheduled as planned for the usual April date. This has many golf fans excited as there would be two Masters tournaments in the span of five months. Johnson is the favorite to win the tournament back-to-back with 8/1 odds according to PointsBet Superbook.
