One of the biggest shows in Netflix history is coming to your screens one last time. “Stranger Things” season five volume one airs on Netflix on Nov. 26. The series will continue to be realised in parts, with volume two coming out on Christmas Day (Dec. 25) concluding with the finale episode on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31).
“Stranger Things” is a show that aired in mid-2016. The show follows a group of kids in 1980s Indiana uncovering secrets about the creatures that roam their world, according to source. As each season builds, so does the suspense of what will happen next. Season five picks up where things left off and will bring the story to a close with more action, emotion and surprises than ever before. As the realized date grows closer, everyone is trying to predict what will happen next.
“We will see some characters develop into heroes, and then there will be a huge sacrifice and a rejuvenation beginning,” Social Studies William Mathes said.
Every season, there is a big sacrifice made by at least one of the characters. As this is the concluding season, viewers can assume that there will be a great sacrifice made that will scar the hearts of many.
“I hope that Dustin makes it out alive; he is one of my favorite characters,” sophomore Natalie Parsons said.
Throughout the current four seasons, all of the characters have grown and developed in their own ways. For example, Dustin. In season one, Dustin was an unsure and timid kid. As the fourth season came to a close, viewers saw Dustin grow into a confident and fearless teen. His change is just one example of how the series highlights personal growth through its characters.
“If I was in the Stranger Things universe, I would team up with Eleven because she is so powerful,” Parsons said.
Eleven is one of the main protagonists in the show. She is known for her extreme powers of telekinesis, or the ability to read minds. Eleven is introduced in the first season, becoming one of the main heroes as each season progresses. Looking back on Eleven in season one compared to season four, there is a dramatic change in who she is.
“My favorite moment from the show has to be the ‘Never Ending Story’ scene with Dustin and Suzy,” Mathes said.
Throughout the entire show, there are so many powerful moments that sometimes it’s hard to pick just one. From heartfelt friendships and heroic sacrifices to surprising twists and emotional reunions, the entire show keeps viewers hooked with unforgettable scenes that stay with you long after the episode ends.
“My favorite season is season three because a lot of important things happened,” Parsons said.
Season three was definitely one of the most notable seasons. It was one of the most action packed ones yet. It even ended on a cliff hanger, leaving the audience craving for more though each season is definitely worth watching.
As the release of the final season creeps closer, viewers are prepared for an emotional and thrilling close to the show. The journey of each character’s growth will be displayed on all of our screens ending with one final chapter. No matter how the show ends, it has already secured its place as one of Netflix’s most iconic series.
