With winter break being about a month or two away, there’s a lot of things on the horizon like tests, tons of studying and the infamous midterms. There are so many places to see and there are so many things to experience, so here are the top winter break locations ranked from worst to best.

Resorts in Canada, Switzerland, Colorado or anywhere that gets colder than 40 degrees is a resounding “No.” However, if travelers love winter, these places are perfect for them.

With the insane amount of snow, small town traditions, ski slopes and hot chocolate, these spots are charming locations that feel like a Christmas movie. Even if people end up getting snowed in, the isolation is nice after having to go through a semester of walking through crowded hallways.

Somewhere that’s a classic vacation spot is Disney World. Winter break in Disney offers some great memories and experiences, but on the other hand, it gets ridiculously crowded. From the crazy wait times to the over exaggerated prices of everything, the magic doesn’t feel too real when little kids are crying everywhere.

A very popular vacation spot is Hawaii. The people are friendly, the scenery is beautiful and it doesn’t require a passport to go there.

One of the worst things about Hawaii is the other tourists. Some people unfortunately act very arrogantly toward the locals. This is because they treat the island like a theme park instead of people’s homes and think they can go wherever they want, including other people’s property.

One of the best things about Hawaii is the nature. There are many hiking routes to do on the dormant volcanoes like Haleakala on Maui, as well as Hualalai and Mauna Kea on Hawaii island. There are also hiking routes on the active volcanoes, like Kilauea, according to the National Park Service on nps.gov. The black volcanic sand is also very beautiful, especially with the contrast of the mesmerizing blue ocean. It’s a perfect place for photography and sightseeing.

The next best vacation spot is a tropical cruise. Something about the sun and the sea spray makes this a dream vacation, especially if travelers have never experienced one.

There are also many activities to do while on a cruise. From the on-board waterslides and pools, to snorkeling at beautiful, vibrant coral reefs, the cruise is an awesome vacation, especially if one loves marine life, according to cruise.blog. The only downside to it is getting sea sick, but that just takes some getting used to.

Finally, one of the greatest vacation spots: Rome. Rome is one of the oldest but beautiful cities in the world. During winter break, they decorate the entire city with Christmas decorations that look beautiful at nighttime, especially if one likes to take pictures.

Not to mention, the food is great. Surprisingly, the tourist crowds are actually less during the month of December, making this an absolutely great vacation spot.

To wrap it up, here are the vacation spots ranked from best to worst: Rome, due to its low tourism and traditions, a tropical cruise, because of the activities and climate, Hawaii, because of the sightseeing and activities, Disney world, because of the memories and experiences, and a snow resort, because of the isolation and the snowy weather.

There are still many places to visit but for now, these are the top vacation spots ranked from worst to best.
