Brewing Up a Trend

There is something strange about waiting 20 minutes in a drive-thru for a drink you could make at home. Yet, people continue to line up every day for 7 Brew. What started as one small drive-thru stand has turned into a growing trend across the country. To me, 7 Brew’s popularity proves that people are not just buying a drink. They are buying into the experience, the variety and the hype that surrounds it.

According to 7 Brew, the company was founded in Northwest Arkansas in 2017. Since then, it has grown to more than 800 stands across 38 states. Arkansas Business reported that the company had already surpassed 600 stores by the end of 2025. Its menu includes coffee, energy drinks, teas, smoothies, shakes and other flavored drinks, giving customers plenty of choices.

The variety is one of the biggest reasons 7 Brew has become so popular. According to 7 Brew, customers can choose from more than 20,000 drink combinations. Customers can customize their drinks with different flavors, making it easy to create something that feels like their own. Instead of ordering the same basic coffee every morning, people have thousands of combinations to choose from.

However, the drinks are not the only thing making 7 Brew so popular. Social media has helped turn certain drink combinations into trends, with customers sharing their favorite orders and recommendations online. Suddenly, getting a drink is not just about getting caffeine. It is about knowing what to order and having something new to try.

This is where 7 Brew stands out. According to the company, its goal is to create a fast, friendly and customized drive-thru experience. The company has created a brand that feels more like an experience than a traditional coffee stop. The drive-thru makes it convenient; the large menu gives customers options and social media keeps people interested in trying something new.

Of course, 7 Brew is not the only coffee chain people enjoy. Starbucks, Dunkin’ and local coffee shops all have loyal customers. Some people may even argue that 7 brew’s popularity comes more from social media hype than the actual quality of its drinks.

I can understand that argument. Social media definitely contributes to the company’s popularity. However, I do not think social media alone explains how quickly 7 Brew has grown. According to Arkansas Business, 7 Brew went from 321 locations at the beginning of 2025 to more than 600 by the end of the year. A company does not experience that kind of growth simply because people see it on TikTok. There has to be something that keeps customers coming back.

That something could be the combination of convenience, variety and the experience 7 Brew creates.  People want choices, and they want businesses that feel different from what they are used to. 7 brew gives customers both.

In my opinion, dismissing 7 Brew as just another internet trend misses what is actually happening. The company’s growth shows how much the way people buy drinks has changed. Customers are not always looking for the cheapest or simplest option. Sometimes they want something fun, customizable and worth talking about.

7 brew may have started with one small drive-thru stand, but it has brewed its way into the competition. Whether people go for the caffeine, the customization or simply because everyone else is going, 7 Brew has created something that people want to be a part of. And as long as customers keep coming back it’s hard to call 7 brew just another trend.
