VAMOSSS!!! The Columbus Crew were crowned three time MLS Cup champions Dec. 9, 2023, after a 2-1 victory against Los Angeles Football Club. With the help from Juan Camilo (Cucho) Hernandez and Yaw Yeboah each scored goals in the 33’ and 37’ minutes. The Crew racked up quite the accolades in this cup victory. Columbus’s goalkeeper Patrick Schulte is now the youngest winning starting goalkeeper in the history of the MLS cup at 22 years old and Crew’s first year coach Wilfried Nancy is now the first black head coach to win an MLS cup. This historic franchise, ranging back to the origins of Major League Soccer in 1996 is now the 3rd winningest MLS Cup team in the league’s history, shortly behind DC United with 4 cups and the Los Angeles Galaxy with 5. If one thing is for certain, this Crew team is still fresh and loaded with young talent who hope they can go back-to-back and bring another trophy to the Capital city.
