“What are you going to be for Halloween?” seems to be the question everyone asks as October quickly approaches. Halloween is right around the corner, and students are starting to search for the perfect Halloween costumes. Everyone wants something creative, unique and original.
Halloween 2026 is bringing plenty of new Halloween costume ideas. The most popular costumes for teens in 2026 are looking to be group or duo costumes, with friends choosing their theme, movie or show they’re basing their costume off of.
Duo costumes could include Glinda and Elphaba, Serena and Blair, Barbie and Ken and Daphne and Velma. Some popular group costumes are predicted to be Spice Girls, Powerpuff Girls, Mean girls and Princesses.
A couple students, junior Ella Ferguson and sophomore Tenley Clark, are in the midst of planning their Halloween costumes. Ferguson wore Snow White last year and absolutely loved it!
“I’m planning to wear another princess this Halloween, like Tiana because I really want to be a princess again, and she was my favorite growing up. My friend is going as Belle!” Ferguson said.
With so many costumes available, students have plenty of places to shop for the perfect look. Popular stores and websites like Amazon, SHEIN, Spirit Halloween, Target and Walmart offer a wide variety of costumes and accessories, making it easy for students to find something that fits their Halloween plans.
“I’m probably going to get most of the costume from Amazon, SHEIN and Target. They always have everything I need,” Ferguson said.
Along with trick or treating, Columbus offers plenty of other activities to do during Halloween, like Fear Columbus, Boo at the Zoo, The ScareFactory. Fear Columbus and The ScareFactory are both haunted houses located in Central Columbus.
“It’s really cute and I love the color green. It really just reminds me of my childhood and how much I looked up to her,” Ferguson said.
As Halloween gets closer, students aren’t just deciding what they want to wear, but also who they want to dress up with. For sophomore Tenley Clark, her Halloween costume plans involve a group costume based on a character she already loves.
“I am planning on being Spider-Man. I saw the new Spiderman movie a few times already and just loved it so much that it’s what I want to be for Halloween. My friends and I are going in a group, all as Spider-Man,” Clark said.
Clark also said she is going to get her costume off of Amazon because Spirit Halloween didn’t have exactly what she was looking for.
With Halloween coming, students are already getting their costumes. There are so many options to choose from. From princesses like Tiana, to groups of Spider-Man, this Halloween is most definitely going to bring plenty of fun and creative costumes throughout the school. So, if you haven’t decided what you’re going to wear by now, better get planning!
