Senior Eric Eichel and Sophomore Chloe Theobald may compete in different sports, but they have both stood out for their performances and contributions to their teams. Eichel is an outside linebacker for the football team, while Theobald plays the striker for the girls soccer team.
This week both athletes earned recognition as Orange Sport Live’s athlete of the week for their hard work and impact on their teams.
For Theobald, the soccer season has included setbacks, but the team is continuing to work together and improve as the season progresses. With an injured starter, Stella Albrecht, and more challenges to overcome, the team has stayed strong.
“We have had many setbacks, with one of our starters getting injured. But we have stayed strong and are working even harder as a team.” Theobald said.
Despite the challenges, Theobald has set many goals for herself and her team. She hopes to break records and help the team succeed in the playoffs.
“My goal for this season is to strive to break some of the records and to win our playoff games,” Theobald said.
Outside of soccer, Theobald enjoys spending time outside, watching movies and hanging out with her friends.
For Eichel, the football season also started with some difficulties, losing to Berlin in the first game of the season. With the rough start, the team is hoping to finish the season strong.
“I would say this season started off a little rough, but we have been getting better every day,” Eichel said
One of Eichel’s biggest accomplishments this season came two weeks ago when they defeated their rivals Olentangy. This win would hopefully help push the team to success for the rest of the season.
“My biggest accomplishment this year would be beating one of our rivals Tangy last week,” Eichel said.
Looking ahead, Eichel hopes to win the rest of the games and make a strong play off run.
