Orange has an amazing journalism program, featuring multiple different types of media and publications. As a student you are able to take a class called Multimedia journalism, in this class you are able to pick a publication to focus on. One of those publications is Orange Sports Live (OSL). OSL is the sports networking publication that covers all seasons varsity sports through many different platforms.
Daily tasks for OSL team members are to make graphics, plan out content, organize plans to cover events and write recaps. When it comes to graphics, photoshop is used to take pictures from media day, and details about that sporting events to then combine and create an informational visual to get the school and community excited to support the pioneers. Part of being on the OSL team also requires you to tweet live updates from different games, matches and meets.
When people visit the twitter page they will be able to find score updates and highlights throughout the games, as well as the final score update. This year a new social platform we have added is TikTok. Through TikTok we hope to reach more students and build excitement about school spirit.
Primarily the goal of OSL is to be an outreach throughout our school to bring fans out to support as well as being an informational source for all game day details. Being a part of the orange sports live team requires commitment, work ethic and drive but seeing the impact it has on our school is a rewarding experience to be a part of.
