Out in the Community: Morning drinks

Every morning I have to make a hard decision between a nice refreshing alani, or an iced coffee from Starbucks. Although I love Alani’s, Starbucks comes out on top more times than not.

My go-to coffee is a Venti Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso with 3 pumps of White Chocolate Mocha Sauce, and Brown Sugar Cream Cold Foam. If I’m feeling up for it I may get a bacon, egg, and gouda sandwich too.

If I decide that morning against Starbucks I’ll either get a Hawaiian shaved ice or sherbert alani; usually stopping by Sheets to fulfill my alain fixation.

Either way I have to have a fun drink to get me through each and every day.

Being a student-athlete is a total rollercoaster. Between school all day, and late practices or games I’m basically running on caffeine and pure willpower to get through it all. That morning drink Is not even optional, it’s mandatory!

Whether it’s an iced coffee or an Alani, it gives me that boost to power through all eight hours of classes and still show up ready to whatever event I have, ready to go. It’s the little moment of joy that makes the whole chaotic day feel a little more manageable.

Most mornings my mood depends on whether I have a drink in hand or not. Most of the time I have a time slot in the morning, so I can grab my choice of drink. It feels like less of a chore walking to my morning classes. Plus let’s be honest, it makes the car ride playlist hit way harder and I feel I can be productive in my classes.
