It’s the beginning of spring sports for Orange Sports Live, meaning that the work load will start to speed up within the class for the season. This year, there has been an increase in professionalism by only allowing branding colors mainly, but also stemming farther away from Canva templates.

As editors, there have been more guidelines but also extra assignments to increase creativity as a whole. Within Orange Sports live there are around eight staff members this year, four of them being editors.

Overall the goal that OSL tries to accomplish each year is having the largest outreach possible on socials and highlighting the importance of our sports and athletes to all members in and outside of the community. Overall our biggest social media platform is Twitter where we have 2.6k followers, mainly live tweeting. Then Instagram with 2.2k followers, then Tiktok with 1K followers.

Community is a large factor when it comes to producing graphics. Overall graphic design within the class stems from what will gain the most attraction to not only our page but also spread awareness to each athletic event that takes place throughout the week. Making sure that graphics are posted every game is the most important because it creates a reliable source that followers can gain insight on about the games.

The development of Orange Sports Live has had a dramatic change this year, with the increase of live tweeting sporting events, graphics not only for game days but also final score, athlete of the week/month, and athlete spotlights.

As OSL continues to gain more followers, the goal is to build the sports community here at Orange and showcase the importance of high school sports and athletes to everyone. The development in comparison to other years, has been largely different with an increase in professionalism and proficiency.
