The hockey team has kicked off the first half of their 23-24 season. Oct. 27-30, the team held their initial tryouts and practices to set roster placements.

The tryouts and season this year is different from any other for the team because for the first time the program will have 3 rosters. Varsity, junior varsity, and junior varsity prep levels respectively.

A bump from two to three teams happened due to an influx of freshmen. Alongside the additional 22 freshmen added to the team this year, a couple of sophomores have joined the team, while only three class of 2023 seniors exited the team in the off season.

The weekend of Nov. 2, the varsity and junior varsity rosters took separate trips to Newark for their first few pre-season games. With an additional few scrimmages at our home rink Chiller North.

The varsity team’s home opening weekend for the regular season kicked off on Friday, Nov. 17 with a 8-2 victory over Columbus Academy. The following day, the team bested district rivals Berlin 3-1.

A week after that, starting on Nov. 24, all three rosters competed in Thanksgiving tournaments. The varsity team placed 3rd, and both junior varsity, and prep placed 2nd in their respective brackets.

Another week later and the varsity and junior varsity rosters competed in the annual Dublin Chiller Tournament. The varsity team placed 4th, while the junior varsity team topped Liberty JV for a championship win.

Half way through December and their season, the hockey team has high aspirations for the rest of the season.
