School’s out in May which means there’s more time to travel and go to concerts. There will be many summer tours and concerts to look forward to this summer. There are concerts for all types of music but let’s look at the top artists that will be performing in the upcoming months.
Kicking off, boygenius will be going on tour from April 12- Aug. 5. The band will be touring all over the United States and parts of Europe like the UK. The group of boygenius consist of Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus. They will mainly be performing their new album “the record” while also having special guests and opening acts like Carly Rae Jepsen, Bartees Strange, Claud and Illuminati Hotties. One of their first concerts of the season was at Coachella.
“I’m glad that I get to see the group live together again because I saw them at Coachella and it was amazing. I’m also excited for them to sing ‘Cool About It’ again,” sophomore Hannah Peterson said.
Another concert to look forward to is ‘90s singer-songwriter Janet Jackson. “Together Again” will continue from April 14 -July 21 and the tour is only in the United States.
“Janet Jackson is back on the road for the first time in nearly four years, and she’s brought a massive, 40-song setlist with her,” according to People magazine.
Four-time Grammy winner and pop artist, Lizzo is on her “Special 2our” lasting from April 21- June 2. She will be performing all over the world including the United States, Australia, Sweden, Japan, Poland, UK and many more. The setlist consists of 26 songs mainly from her new album “Special” which came out in 2022.
“This will be my first Lizzo concert and I’m really looking forward to seeing her perform live and the dances and I know the outfits will be so cool,” sophomore Hailey Zinn said.
Next up, Ed Sheeran will be going on his Mathematics Tour from May 6-Sept. 23. He is traveling all over the world starting in Dublin, Ireland and finishing in Inglewood, California with 88 songs across three legs.
“Guests/Opening acts include Soccer Mommy, the Beths and Patti Smith,” according to entertainmentweekly.com.
Going on her sixth concert tour, Alicia Keys will be performing her “Keys to the Summer Tour” from June 28- Aug. 2. Keys has won 15 Grammys and some popular songs include “If I Ain’t Got You (2003)”, “Girl On Fire (2012)” and “Fallin’ (2001).”
“It’s my first ever 360. I can’t wait to see you and lose ourselves in the music,” Alicia Keys said on Instagram.
Finally, Beyonce will be going on the “Renaissance World Tour” from July 12- Sept. 26. The shows include 41 songs and will be performed in Europe and the United States. The average ticket for her shows are $681 and many of her shows are already sold out.
“Beyoncé does not have any opening acts lined up for her 2023 ‘Renaissance Tour’ although there are rumors that 74-year-old singer Grace Jones will be joining her swirling on Twitter,” according to nypost.com.
