The 2023 NFL draft took place from April 27 to 29. The draft has 7 rounds spread across 3 days. All 32 NFL franchises take turns picking the best football players coming out of college to join their rosters.
The Cleveland Browns made 7 selections in this year’s draft proccess. Although the team made 7 picks, they weren’t evenly distributed through the different rounds. The Browns lost many of their high value picks last off-season when they made the controversial, blockbuster trade for quarterback Deshaun Watson.
The Browns 1st selection took place on day 2, with the 74th pick in the 3rd round. With this selection the Browns added University of Tennessee wide receiver Cedric Tillman. Next, the Browns took Baylor defensive lineman Siaki Ika.
Another notable Browns selection for Ohio sports fans was Dawand Jones, offensive tackle out of The Ohio State University, who was taken with the 111th pick in the 4th round. Later in the 4th round selecting Missouri defensive lineman Isaiah McGuire.
The Browns made another controversial splash at the quarterback position, selecting Dorian Thompson-Robinson out of UCLA, with the 140th pick in the 5th round. Two picks later Cleveland selected Northwestern cornerback Cameron Mitchell.
The Browns end their draft with another OSU offensive lineman in center Luke Wypler with the 190th pick in the 6th round.
